Ce projet a débuté par un atelier en médiathèque, pour lequel j'ai préparé des exemples de flip-books dessinés à même les livres. Cela m'amusait de demander aux enfants de dessiner sur les livres; le reste du temps évidemment c'est formellement interdit(le film de nos livres est là). Et puis j'ai continué la série, pour moi. J'avais envie de tangible, de palpable, quand on travaille sur ordinateur ("Un Jour", "Pas Beau", "Spectateurs", "Hubert l'homme aux bonbons") ou sous caméra ("Quand tu dors", "Moi l'autre", "Le Jardin"), on laisse peu de traces. Et je trouve quelque chose de magique à l'idée que dans chaque livre, un film m'attend.

La série a fait l'objet de publications dans Actualitté, Le Magazine Littéraire, le Monde Diplomatique.

At the end of the book, in an editor's note, we learn he suicided. The book was very successful, people would dress in pink&white (Charlotte's dress) or yellow&blue (Werther's costume). And some would suicide.
Goethe said: "The success of this book was big, even monstruous, but mainly because it came at the right time".
In 1974, the mediatisation of a suicide, leading to other ones, was called "Werther-effect".
